The schools

There are twenty-five schools in Mid-Canterbury, with most of them being small rural entities.

Ashburton

Ashburton itself has six Primary Schools, an Intermediate, and a Year 9 – 13 College with 1300 students. There is a full range of pre-school and day-care facilities, and the town also has an Aoraki Polytechnic Campus.

Good relationships, support

There is a good relationship between schools, with sporting and cultural events bringing them together regularly. There is also strong professional support through various principal, teacher and support staff networks.
